Felicia is the cofounder and coordinating core member of Mujeres de Maiz, a women of color art and activist collective based in Los Angeles since 1997.

Mujeres de Maiz, is a grassroots, multimedia, women’s art collective and networking/support circle of emerging Xicana and Women of Color cultural activists and artists in Los Angeles proactively creating work for, by and about women’s issues from local to global, personal to political, stressing the importance of gender, race, sexuality, and class.  Through the programming of ongoing multimedia live arts shows, publications, as well as presentations to schools, conferences, and in both arts and community venues, the group outreaches to urban young women and youth regarding personal and cultural empowerment and history hoping to share and inspire others to collaborate and create their own art.
